Decided to take the plunge and have beehives but are not sure how or where to start, let alone where to source equipment and bees?
Join us on this short three-hour course, where we will guide you through the considerations, advise on beehive options, help you design the perfect apiary and share advice about where to source beekeeping equipment, bee stocks, where to get support and advice and what to look for to protect your investment.
(Half day courses: 10.00 – 13.00 hrs / or 14.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs, including refreshments)
To be held at Bee Responsible…, Unit A, The Old School, Bridge Street, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Barnard Castle, County Durham, DL 12 0QB
Who’s it for?
Anyone who is thinking of installing beehives in their outside space or scaling-up and/ or considering an ‘out-apiary’.
Why does it matter?
‘…If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail…’ said Benjamin Franklin, apparently (did you know he was a subscriber of Thomas Wildman’s influential 1768 A Treatise on the Management of Bees.)?
Moving heavy beehives of unhappy bees is not for the faint-hearted so join us, and let us help you help your bees.
How long is the course?
It’s a half day course.
Where is the course held?
At our workshops in Middleton-In-Teesdale, smack-bang in the middle of the Pennines – so you’ll still have time to enjoy a pub lunch at the Rose and Crown in nearby Romaldkirk or take a saunter up to Kirkcarrion or experience part of The Pennine Way.
How much does it cost?
£95.00
